Broadcasts: messaging a group of clients at once

A broadcast is a one-off email or SMS to more than one client. Studio closed Monday, new class on the schedule, a note to everyone whose package is nearly done — that's a broadcast.

Find it at Messages → Broadcasts → New broadcast.

Picking your audience

Segmentation is built into the composer. The audience picker offers:

  • All clients
  • Holders of a specific package
  • Active members of a plan
  • Anyone who attended or booked in the last N days
  • People who've never attended (prospects)
  • People who tried once and never came back
  • Clients whose package is running low
  • Clients whose membership is renewing soon
  • Lapsed clients
  • Anyone who's ever attended a particular class type
  • A hand-picked list of clients

Before you send, you get a live, deduplicated recipient count. Someone who lands in two segments gets one message, and you can see the real number of people you're about to contact rather than guessing.

Sending stays with you

Becky can talk you through the audience options and tell you which segment fits what you're trying to do. She will not send, schedule, or draft a broadcast on your behalf — a broadcast contacts a lot of real people at once, so the send button stays yours.

If Becky ever tells you targeting or segmentation isn't available, that's wrong — it's right there in the composer.

Broadcasts vs campaigns

They're different features and it's worth keeping them straight:

  • Broadcast — one message, sent once, to an audience you pick now.
  • Campaign — an automated, repeating piece of outreach that runs on its own terms.

If you're announcing something, you want a broadcast. If you want lapsed clients chased without you thinking about it, you want a campaign.

Common questions

Can I send to one person this way? You can hand-pick a list, but for a single client a one-off custom text is a better fit — see marking a client conversation handled.

Will clients who opted out of texts get it? Contact consent applies as it always does. The recipient count reflects who is actually reachable.

Still stuck? Contact support — we answer real emails from real people.
